ACSI writing festival
There is a creative writing festival going on in ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) which provides 4-12th grade students to to use their creativity and writing skills to write a short story, essay or a form of poetry. For the short story grades 4th-5th minimum and maximum words are 300-800, grades 6th-8th minimum and maximum words are 600-1,600 and 9-12 grades maximum words are 900-2,400. Even though we don’t have students above 8th grade, we still compete. For essay grades 4th-5th minimum and maximum words are 300-800, grades 6-8 maximum words are 600-1,600 and grades 9-12 maximum words are 900-2,400. Rhymed or free verse poetry grades 4th-5th minimum and maximum words are 25-150, grades 6th-8th minimum and maximum words are 25-300 and grades 9th-12th maximum words are 25-600. VCS teachers will be picking entries (4 per grade) on the week of January 29th. Student’s creative writings entries will be judged on the week of February 29. For 8th grade the people who got picked are Annie Sher, Sara Castillon and Samantha Randle. For 7th grade the people who got picked are Natalie Salgado, Kai Goodman, Isabella Mateo and Jasmin Ibanez . For 6th grade Xochitl Miyoshi, Isabella Castillon , Faith Risinger and Brooke Ferguson . For 5th Anabelle Afonso, Grace Purinton and Rex Randle. Finally, for Fourth grade the people who got in are Demi Kallios, Cole Valentine, Kyra Barzak, Talia Anthony and Sage Moynagh. Lets see who will be the winners of this year’s ACSI creative writing festival!
