Carly's Flowers For Algernon Answer
What drawbacks, if any, might there be to being a genius?
There would, of course, be some drawbacks to becoming a genius. These have the potential of being major or minor, but disadvantages nonetheless. For one, scientists might wish to conduct experiments on my mind to identify the source of my sudden intelligence. Other possibilities involve my own state of being and the people around me. I could become more withdrawn to my own thoughts, or seem indifferent towards others. I may feel too dissimilar to people my own age to genuinely connect with them or engage in captivating conversations. Overall, having a genius aptitude may not be as spectacular as it seems.
