Ethos Pathos Logos
Now that you have reviewed persuasive writing, we are going to explore how persuasion is used in the real world. First, we will learn new terms.
Label a note paper "Persuasion and Rhetoric". Write down the following definition:
Rhetoric is using language in an effective manner with the aim to persuade or motivate an audience. Rhetoric is applicable to both speaking and writing.
Using the following website link, write down detailed notes for all three terms: ethos, pathos, and logos. Use words, phrases, and pictures in your notes. Put questions that you have on the side, like Cornell notes.
Finished? Get a St. Pat's Day handout from the media cart and find the link and directions on the Mrs. Hull web page under Mrs. Hull's picture.
