Instructions for TUESDAY 5/8/18
Good morning 8th grade students!
You should have written several ideas in your Language Arts journal about the talents and strengths God has given you.
Now, follow the instructions for reviewing "Gerunds".
- Take out your notes on Verbals and review the section on Gerunds. You may keep your notes out to refer to while working on the "Gerunds" worksheet.
- Pick up a "Juggling Gerunds" worksheet from the "8th Tuesday" folder underneath the 8th grade journals.
- Complete the whole sheet and turn it in to the Language Arts inbox.
- Next, take out the work you started in class on Monday (p. 686-691) and complete it to turn in. Directions: Read textbook pages 686-690 and answer the questions on p. 691. Double check your heading and place in the 8th Grade Language Arts Inbox.
Resume Tips and Instructions/ResumeWorksheet: Once all the above work is completed, you may pick up a "Resume Tips and Instructions Worksheet" from the "8th Tuesday" folder underneath the 8th grade journals. You will have Language Arts class and Literature class to work on this assignment, so read each word and take your time.
Resume Tips and Suggestions worksheet instructions: Read the page called "Resume Tips and Suggestions", then flip over the paper and review the top sections to get an idea of what types of information goes onto a resume. You do not need to fill it in. Instead, use a piece of blank paper to brainstorm the areas mentioned at the bottom of the worksheet:
Honors and Awards.... etc.
Brainstorm and fill in as many things that you can for these areas, and then save these pages for Wednesday's assignment.
Done early? You may pick up a "Resume Assignment" sheet from Wednesday's 8th grade folder under the 8th grade language arts journals, and begin brainstorming what you will put on your resume. Do not begin typing the resume. You will do that in class on Wednesday.
You may work on vocabulary items due Friday or study the vocabulary words for Friday's quiz. The only other thing you can do is silent reading.
Have a good day!
