Ongoing Assignment - Journal

Staple a stack of binder paper together to create a "Call of the Wild" journal, or use an empty composition book. The first page should be the list of characters and descriptions. You can find that information on a different post on this blog.

After reading each chapter, label a page of your journal with the chapter number, and follow the directions below for writing instructions. You should have an entry for each chapter, and you should use page numbers and quotes in your journal entries.

Create a running journal of Buck’s character and degree of “wildness” throughout the novel. Document each situation that changes him and tell how he changes or adapts.

Feel free to add comments to this post with your observations!

In Chapter 1 I noticed that Buck turned from a domesticated pet to a "bloody-eyed devil" on page 49. He would have never attacked the Judge and the children. In a way, he changed into a more "wild" self who started attacking unknown people.

Chapter 2 p.63 says,"The domesticated generations fell from him." Buck has changed into a wilder and stronger job.
