Poetry - speech assignment

Poetry - speech assignment

Assignment: Find a poem to read aloud! It does not have to be fully memorized, but you should not have paper in front of your face when reading. That means that you should be familiar with poem enough to read it smoothly.

What are some ways to make sure that you will be able to read the poem aloud smoothly? Answer in the comments section. *To comment, just fill in your first name (no other personal information) and put the code given in the box at the bottom before hitting Save Comment.

Now, pick a poem! You can find a poem in a poetry book or by exploring the links below. There are some poetry books on the back counter and some printouts. The poem can be silly or serious, but make sure that it is appropriate for school. Once a poem is selected, type out the poem and the poet's name onto a google doc so you can practice.

You could memorize it but you don't have to memorize it fully, and you could practice in front of parents or siblings and practice the part that you're bad at
